Normally ELT Journal on CD-ROM is supplied in a single-user version which is licensed only for use on a single designated machine. To cater for the needs of larger-scale users, we can offer three additional types of licence.

1. A multi-machine licence
This is designed for institutions which have a number of different stand-alone machines on which they want to make the CD-ROM available. Only one copy of the CD-ROM is supplied but this may be installed and used on any machines within the institution up to the licensed number. The use of the CD-ROM on any machines "off-site" i.e. outside the geographical location of the institution, is specifically excluded.

Cost: Basic licence fee GBP 60. Supplementary fee per licensed machine: GBP 30
Upgrade for registered purchasers of version 1 or 2: GBP 30 per licensed machine.

2. A network licence
This is designed for institutions which operate a relatively small local area network over which they wish to make the CD-ROM available. Installation normally requires the Acrobat ® Reader software from the CD-ROM to be installed on each workstation, while the data from the CD-ROM resides on the central server.

Cost: Basic licence fee GBP 60. Supplementary fee per networked machine: GBP 30
Upgrade for registered purchasers of an earlier version : GBP 30 per networked machine.

3. A site licence
This is designed for large-scale users who have site-wide networks over which they wish to make the CD-ROM available. Intending users should ensure that Acrobat ® Reader+ search 6.1 (or above) is available over their network. The use of the material is restricted to authorised users of the network who must be registered students or members of staff of the institution and who may access the material only from the immediate geographical location of the institution. Making material available to students on distance-learning courses through dial-up networking or by internet is specifically excluded from this licence.

Cost: Basic licence fee GBP 500
Upgrade for registered purchasers of an earlier version GBP 200

We also offer a "single-user" site licence, which permits access to the material on the same basis as above but with the proviso that only one user at a time may log on to the material.

Cost: Basic licence fee GBP 250
Upgrade for registered purchasers of an earlier version GBP 100
