We look forward to hearing from you.Which version of Adobe Acrobat Reader can I use?
In order to use the CD successfully, you must use the full version of Acrobat Reader (+ search). The latest issue of the CD (issue 5: 1981-2006) is designed to work with Adobe Acrobat Reader + search version 6 or later. Unfortunately, files created for this issue cannot be read by versions of Acrobat Reader earlier than version 5, and index files (used for the search function on the CD) can only be read by version 6 or later. Copies of version 8 for Windows and Mac are included on the CD. You can download versions of Adobe Acrobat for your machine by clicking on the Adobe icon. The installation requirements for Adobe Acrobat Reader are given on the Adobe website. Click the icon above.
Installation over a small-scale LAN network requires the installation of the CD onto the central server and the installation of Adobe Acrobat Read+Search (from the CD or elsewhere) on each machine on which you wish to access the material. Please note that the standard CD supplied is for use on a single machine only. Use of more than one machine or on a network requires a special licence. When I am accessing articles, do I read them straight from the CD all the time, or can I download the entire CD onto my computer?
The terms of the single-user licence specifically prohibit copying the files in any form - even onto your own hard drive. Please access the material directly from the CD-ROM.
